Simon is the Head Warden, based on Lundy, and leads the wardening team.

Tara is the resident Assistant Warden and marine wildlife specialist in the Lundy Conservation Team.

Thomas is the part-time Bird Observatory Warden with his time split between this and General Assistant duties. He holds a bird ringing S permit and co-ordinates the daily census, bird ringing and monitoring activities.  

Greg is the Bird Observatory long term volunteer, covering the 2026 season. He assists with the daily census and bird ringing, holding a trainee (T) permit.  

Emma is the 2026 volunteer seabird assistant warden, monitoring the populations of our Puffins, Guillemots, Kittiwakes and Fulmars.

Eleanor is employed on Lundy as a General Assistant, but provides support to the Bird Observatory as a social media assistant and holding a trainee permit, assists with the bird ringing.

Chris Dee is based on the mainland near Ilfracombe and is the voluntary leader of the Lundy Bird Observatory ringing group and the primary contact with the British Trust for Ornithology which coordinates bird ringing across the UK and Ireland. He is a bird ringing S permit holder and a frequent visitor to Lundy since 1982.

Tim Jones is a regular visitor to Lundy, a former joint bird recorder for the island, and the Lundy Field Society representative on the Bird Observatory Organising Committee.
